A CAKE CELEBRATION!

"You've got to bring cake to eat cake!"

"The Great Roswell Cake Off" returns for its second year at 11am on Sat-NOV-7 at Table & Main, 1028 Canton Street in Roswell. This family-friendly event welcomes bakers of all abilities to celebrate that most captivating of confections: CAKE! Bakers can participate at three tiers: (1) Competition Tier $50: Bakers' cakes are judged by our illustrious panel (tbd) to win a prize of $1,000! (2) General Tier $25: Love baking but don't want the competition pressure? You're just here to share your cake and have fun! (3) Children's Tier $25: Bakers age 16 or younger have their cakes judged for a $250 prize! Slots are available for up to 100 bakers total at this event.

TIMELINE: 

11:00am // Arrival and check-in. Bakers receive their cake boxes with printed event instructions. Let the party and cake conversation commence as you mix, mingle, swap tips & recipes, and enjoy live music.

12:00pm // Competition bakers submit a piece of their cake to the judges.

12:15pm // Bakers are invited to sample cakes using the supplies provided.

1:30pm // The winning bakers are announced!

2:00pm // Event ends.

FAQ:

(a) Am I allowed to simply visit and NOT bring a cake? Yes, but only those who bring a cake to share will receive a box to sample others' cakes. Cake samples will only be distributed to approved event boxes. Guests who do not bring cake are welcome to attend, but sampling is reserved for registered bakers who bring a cake to share.

(b) Where do I park? This event takes place in T&M's parking lot. There is NO on-site parking. Attendees are encouraged to use Roswell's free parking deck nearby.

(c) What supplies must I bring? We will provide tables, tablecloths, wax paper sheets, (non) latex gloves, plastic spatulas, paper plates, and cake boxes. Cake stands will not be provided.

(d) What do I get if I win? The winning baker receives $1,000 cash prize. The winning children's baker receives $250.

(e) Will Table & Main be open for brunch at this time? No, T&M will not be open at the time of this event.

(f) How do I register? All bakers must register by purchasing the appropriate ticket via OpenTable. Only 100 slots remain. When they're gone, they're gone!

(g) How will cakes b/e judged? Cakes are judged by a panel on four dimensions: (1) Taste, (2) Appearance, (3) Technical execution, and (4) Overall impression.

(h) What about dietary restrictions/allergens? T&M cannot guarantee any baker’s entry is free from allergens or suitable for any specific dietary restriction, including but not limited to gluten-free, dairy-free, or nut-free diets.

(i) How large should my cake be? Bakers' cakes should be large enough for at least 20 small sharing portions. As a guideline, an 8-inch two-layer round cake, standard Bundt cake, 9x13-inch cake, or equivalent should be plenty. All competition bakers should reserve enough cake for a judging sample. Cakes do not need to be pre-sliced.

(j) What if it rains? This event is rain-or-shine. In truly unsafe weather, we will reach out to all involved with a game plan and refund, if necessary.
